Kanye West will open Yeezy stores worldwide declares he ‘saved’ Adidas and Gap

The rapper and fashion mogul took to Instagram to rant about the two retailers and tease fans about his new plans.

He declared: “We are going to open a Yeezy stores worldwide starting in Atlanta.”

He then asked his 16.5 million followers to apply for positions, adding: “Who would be best to open it? I’ll buy the land and or building then we gonna open up in every state and then internationally.”

The 45-year-old continued: “I signed with both Adidas and Gap because it contractually stated they would build permanent stores, which neither company has done…”

He added: “I saved both of those companies at the same time.”

On Tuesday, West, who has collaboration deals involving his Yeezy brand with Adidas and Gap, took to Instagram to share his displeasure about the brands.

He posted a snap of what appeared to be fluorescent Yeezy Gap sunglasses, and captioned it: “Gap held a meeting about me without me?”

Later on that day, the father-of-four who is going through a divorce with reality TV star Kim Kardashian, posted a screenshot of a text message exchange of a model in a Gap T-shirt and accused the company of stealing one of his designs.

“This is Gap copying YGEBB,” he wrote, referring to the Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collaboration. “But they canceled the photo shoot with my kids in Japan without me knowing.”

Shortly after, West shared a video of himself addressing a group, who may have been Gap employees.

“This is not celebrity marketing. This is not a collaboration. This is a life mission,” he said in the clip.

The star and Yeezy first partnered with Gap in 2020, with an aim to create accessible fashion.

In an interview on the Drink Champs podcast earlier this year, he said: “Ain’t nobody care about the Gap until we went to the Gap, bro.”

Over the past year, he also shared his issues with Adidas, which he partnered in 2013.

In June, he accused the brand of creating a “fake Yeezy” by releasing its Adilette 22 slide sandals, which he compared to his own Yeezy slides.

Recently, he criticised the company for creating Yeezy Day on August 2, when some of the most anticipated Yeezy trainers were released by the sportswear brand without, he claimed, his approval.
