Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all trying hard to get more high-profile new signings over the line as the summer transfer window continues to make headlines. The Gunners remain in pursuit of Lisandro Martinez after deals for Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira and want to strengthen their midfield further with Youri Tielemans and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Chelsea have yet to complete a transfer under Todd Boehly and are pushing to sign Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt, though may lose out on the latter. The Blues are also reportedly keen on Sporting star Matheus Nunes and Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard as they wrap up a deal for Raheem Sterling before flying to the USA for a pre-season tour, having also considered wantaway Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tottenham also want more new recruits before the weekend, with Clement Lenglet said to have undergone a medical ahead of his loan switch from Barcelona and a fee for Djed Spence agreed with Middlesbrough. Tottenham considered move for Sven Botman
Tottenham’s hunt for a new central defender has been well-documented this summer as the club close in on a loan move for Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet.
The Frenchman is expected to become Antonio Conte’s fifth signing of the summer as Spurs continue to put a new-look squad together ahead of their pre-season trip to South Korea.
While Lenglet is reportedly close to joining, The Athletic claim Spurs considered a move for Sven Botman, who recently joined Newcastle United from Lille.
Pereira set for Fulham medical
Andreas Pereira will have his medical at Fulham tomorrow.
A deal worth around £10m have been agreed with Manchester United.
Lingard flying to USA for transfer offers
Jesse Lingard wants to explore transfer options in MLS, reports ESPN.
The midfielder is out of contract after leaving Manchester United and the likes of West Ham and Tottenham have reportedly shown interest in a free transfer.
But Lingard will first travel to the USA to listen to offers Stateside.
Arsenal weigh up second Milinkovic-Savic bid
Arsenal continue to be linked with Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Gunners were rumoured to have submitted an initial offer for the Serbia international this week worth around €55m (£47.2m) that was quickly rebuffed by the Rome outfit.
Per Sport Witness, Italian outlet Il Messaggero claim that undeterred Arsenal could now return with a swift second bid and might be tempted to go as high as €65m.
Sterling to Chelsea almost done
Chelsea are confident of signing Raheem Sterling this week before the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The Independent claim just the final details of a £45m move are left to be wrapped up, and Thomas Tuchel should have his first-choice attacking signing with the group within days.
However, Chelsea face disappointment in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt, with the Juventus centre-back currently preferring a move to Bayern Munich over the Premier League.
Chelsea wait on Raphinha
Chelsea are still waiting on news from Raphinha’s entourage, who are hoping Barcelona match their £55m offer that has already by accepted by Leeds, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
But the £45m signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City remains the focus for Thomas Tuchel.
In defence, Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is in advanced talks with the Blues, with Juventus centre-back Matthijs De Ligt attracting serious interest from both Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Sevilla’s Jules Kounde remains an option for Chelsea but has fallen down the shortlist since Boehly has been conducting the club’s transfer business.
Fulham plot further deals
Fulham will continue to target more signings with co-owner Tony Khan working with CEO Alistair Macintosh and Marco Silva on their next moves, reports Nizaar Kinsella.
Liverpool have turned down several of Fulham’s approaches to sign right-back Neco Williams on a permanent deal after having him on loan in the Championship last season.
Arsenal’s Bernd Leno continues to be a goalkeeping target, with further deals in the pipeline and the ambition to build a team to survive relegation communicated to their Portuguese manager.

Newcastle want Spurs target Gordon
Newcastle have launched a bid to sign Tottenham target Anthony Gordon, reports the Telegraph.
Spurs explored including the Everton youngster in a deal for Richarlison, only to settle for the Brazilian in a £60m deal.
Now Newcastle sense an opportunity, though it remains to be seen if Everton’s strong stance on Gordon remains.
Barca reiterate De Jong stance
Barcelona have reiterated their stance that Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong is not for sale.
Reports emerged last week that a fee was close to being agreed for De Jong, in the region of £65million, only for Barca president Joan Laporte to insist: “We have no intention of selling him, he wants to stay.”
Speaking on Wednesday, Laporte doubled down on the club’s stance.
Asked at Franck Kessie’s unveiling for the latest on De Jong, Laporte said: “Frenkie is a Barcelona player. He is not for sale, we don’t want to transfer him.”

Fulham close in on double deal
Fulham are set to complete two further signings this week with Manchester United’s Andreas Periera and Shakhtar’s Manor Solomon both closing in on a move to Craven Cottage, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
The Cottagers have agreed on a £9million fee for Periera with a further £3m payable in add-ons for the midfielder.
It sees the west Londoners beat Brazilian giants Flamengo for the 26-year-old’s signature who had hoped to make their loan move permanent.
Manor Solomon has arrived in London to conduct his medical ahead of signing on a season-long loan deal from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar.
It’s unclear whether an option to buy at the end of his loan deal has been included in the agreement at this stage.
