Transfer news LIVE! Zaha to Chelsea FC, Fofana medical; Arsenal want Asensio; Man United seal Antony deal; gossip

The transfer deadline is looming over the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham as clubs fight for their final signings of the summer market. In north London, one last big addition is still possible with Youri Tielemans, Marco Asensio and Yeremy Pino all linked to the Gunners – but a move for Pedro Neto has reportedly been dismissed.

Chelsea have now agreed a £70million deal for Wesley Fofana and he is expected for a medical today, while they are also interested in Wilfried Zaha. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Anthony Gordon are other major targets while Arsen Zakharyan has emerged as a genuine contender to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Lucas Paqueta has also had a medical ahead of his own big-money move, to West Ham, while Tottenham continue their clear-out with Sergio Reguilon the next player to depart Antonio Conte’s squad. Antony to Manchester United is also on the verge of being completed, which could see Hakim Ziyech return to Ajax. Follow all the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours below!

Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso with this post on Instagram tonight.

Just a matter of time now, United fans!

Seems like a decent signing indeed, but that massive fee is going to pile the pressure on straightaway…

Antony to undergo Man United medical in next 48 hours

Hardly breaking news, but it’s now being widely reported that Antony to Manchester United is done.

The deal is said to be worth a huge £80.75m up front, with a further £4.25m then potentially due to Ajax in add-ons.

Per Sky Sports, Antony is expected to travel to Manchester and undergo a medical within the next 48 hours.

Antony will join captain Harry Maguire as United’s joint-second most expensive signing of all time, behind only Paul Pogba.

He is their fifth recruit of Erik ten Hag’s first transfer window in charge, after Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.

Man United a ‘serious option’ says Gakpo

Manchester United’s imminent signing of Antony was believed to have put paid to their rival pursuit of another Eredivisie star in Cody Gakpo.

It was generally thought that Erik ten Hag would push to land the PSV Eindhoven favourite if he could not seal a reunion with the Brazilian winger from Ajax.

The Antony deal is happening, but Gakpo now seems to have suggested that a big-money switch to Old Trafford potentially remains on the table for him also.

“Manchester United is one of the interested clubs, but there are other options,” he told ESPN after scoring for PSV in Sunday’s 6-1 thrashing of Excelsior in the Dutch top-flight.

“United is a serious option, though. I can hear it all. I’m trying to get rid of it, but that’s difficult.”

Liverpool dealt Bellingham and Neves blows

Neither Jude Bellingham nor Ruben Neves look set to join Liverpool before the transfer deadline.

Both players have been linked with potential late high-profile moves to Anfield after ongoing injury issues led Jurgen Klopp to perform a U-turn on his stance over recruiting a new midfielder.

However, England international Bellingham looks primed to stay at Borussia Dortmund, whose sporting director Sebastian Kehl told Sky 90: “I hope that Jude Bellingham will stay at BVB beyond 2023. I can see he feels super comfortable with us.”

Meanwhile, Neves started and scored the opening goal in Wolves’ 1-1 Premier League draw against Newcastle at Molineux on Sunday.

Afterwards, Bruno Lage reiterated that he was almost certain that the Portuguese captain – also previously a target for the likes of Manchester United – would stay put for another season, with his current contract set to run until 2024.

“I can confirm I’m 99 per cent sure that Ruben Neves will stay at Wolverhampton this summer,” Lage told Sky Sports.

Reguilon and Winks to leave Tottenham

Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks are both on the verge of leaving Tottenham on loan.

Standard Sport understands that Spanish left-back Reguilon will join Atletico Madrid on a season-long deal that does not include the option for a permanent transfer.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria director Carlo Osti has confirmed an agreement for Winks to head to Serie A for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.

Antony to Man United ‘here we go’

Antony to Manchester United now has the full “here we go” treatment from Fabrizio Romano.

He says a fee of €100m has been agreed with Ajax, with the Brazilian to sign a five-year contract tomorrow that includes the option for a further 12 months.

Antony is set to travel to Manchester next week to complete his high-profile switch to Old Trafford and become United’s fifth summer signing, after Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.

The 22-year-old will reunite with ex-Ajax pair Erik ten Hag and Martinez in the Premier League.

Chelsea keeping tabs on Zaha

Chelsea are interested in a deal for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The Ivory Coast international is back on the radar at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel attempts to significantly bolster his attacking ranks before the summer window shuts for business at 11pm BST on September 1.

Zaha has been frustrated in his attempts to secure a big-money move away from Selhurst Park over recent years, with Arsenal among the clubs to have chased his signature and come close to a deal in 2019, but has now entered the final 12 months of his current Palace contract.

However, while Chelsea do look to have revived their interest in the 29-year-old, Standard Sport understands that they are still expected to try and complete deals for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Everton attacker Anthony Gordon this week first.

De Jong going nowhere

Frenkie de Jong is now expected to stay at Barcelona despite a whole summer of rumours linking him with a move away.

Manchester United have spent much of the window trying to bring the Dutchman to Old Trafford, but the midfielder has made it clear he wants to stay at Barcelona, despite issues over his wages.

Ben Jacobs reports that De Jong is set to get his wish, with United giving up on him and Chelsea not making any progress either.

Reguilon set for Atletico

The Tottenham clearout looks set to continue.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Sergio Reguilon is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid on loan, with an agreement reached between the two clubs.

Reguilon will travel for a medical tomorrow ahead of joining Atletico on a season-long loan. There’s no buy option included in the deal.

Dortmund stand firm on Bellingham

Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool have been linked with the England midfielder, and Fabrizio Romano claims Dortmund have rejected a number of offers for Bellingham this summer.

Club director Sebastian Kehl hopes the 19-year-old stays at Dortmund for years to come.

He said. “I hope that Jude Bellingham will stay at BVB beyond 2023. I can see he feels super comfortable with us.”
